Clear Coat Restoration
Differs from clear coat scratch removal, in that the focus is on a full panel, to remove marring, swirl marks, holograms and fine scratches, returning the surface to the desired showroom finish.
Equipment and Material
Preparation
Goal: Create an ultra clean surface before starting, this makes it easier to see the marring under a flourecent light.
- Bilt Hamber Korrosol: Remove iron particulates from the lower panels - dwell time 2 minutes, and then rinse.
- Bilt Hamber Touchless: Snow foam pre wash - dwell time 5 - 8 minutes, depending on how dirty the car is.
Correction
- Bilt Hamber Auto Wash Shampoo: A highly lubricated shampoo, works especially well when claying.
- Orbital (dual action) Polisher: The "gold standard" for paint correction - improved finish quality, and consistency.
- Bilt Hamber Clay:
- Koch Chemie F6.01 (Fine Cut): An "intelligent" machine polish designed to quickly remove marring while simultaneously restoring a deep sheen.
- Koch Chemie M2,02 (Micro Cut): Uses extremely homogeneous abrasives to permanently remove "holograms" and the finest scratches (up to P4000), resulting in a brilliant high-gloss finish.
Protection
- Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax: The gold standard for wax sealants. known for its incredible T1 carnauba and hydrophobic properties - applied to the treated panel using the orbital polisher, left to dwell for 10 minutes, and buffed with a super soft mircofibre towel.

This specific combo of products results in an increase in time between maintenance washes - up to 6+ months (manufacturers figure), but under normal driving conditions, 4+ months.
